The Flower Garden is bordered by Qingdao Hill on the north and Sun Yat-sen Park on the south, the Flower Garden covers an area of 8.25 hectares. With rolling surface of land, thick woods, carpets of grass, blooming flowers, running spring water and ponds, the park is a pretty garden in which the water, sky, hills, woods, flowers and grass form a harmonious picture. In 1995, 20 statues were placed in the garden. They are statues of 20 late prominent culture figures, who were born in or had been living in Qingdao and had made outstanding cultural contributions. For this the Flower Garden got its nickname: Statues Garden of Qingdao Cultural Celebrities
